The Potter Park Zoo cares for more than 100 species of animals whose natural habitats are scattered around the world, like the black rhinoceros from Africa and the yak from Asia. Activities specifically created for children include the Duck Pond, the Barnyard petting zoo, where children can also feed animals, and Pony and Camel Rides, available during the summer. It is located beside the Red Cedar River at Potter Park, a mile from the campus of Michigan State University.
Open daily, Apr - Oct: 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; Nov - Mar: 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Adults $10; Children (3-16) $2; Children under 3 are free. Parking $4.
